Diana Waters – Classical Dressage

Services offered (See below for more details about Diana): Coaching Session £15 per session. Please submit a video of no longer than 10 minutes, and a short written summary (300 words or less) of what you would like to achieve in this session and in the long term.

The video can be in-hand, out on a ride, or in an arena or school. I will assess you and your horse as a partnership, with an emphasis on your position and how you synchronise with the horse’s movement.

I will suggest exercises based on classical principles to improve your horse’s way of going. You will receive written feedback, and will be able to ask questions on the feedback via email.  If you require advice with regard to confidence and training issues as well as riding I am happy to provide that service as well as riding instruction, please include details in the form below.

Videos are assessed  and feedback emailed on the first and third Tuesday of each month; therefore your video must be submitted by the Sunday before to allow for time differences.  See Calendar for deadlines.

Introducing Diana:
Diana Waters lives on the Central Coast, NSW Australia. She trained and qualified as a riding instructor in the UK where she has worked in more than 15 riding schools.

She has always  been passionate about riding and teaching,  and rode Icelandics at Oakfield Farm in Dorset throughout her teenage and early 20’s where her horse Svalur still lives on permanent loan and is used to teach young and inexperienced riders.  Diana became dissatisfied with the normal way of riding dressage, both in riding schools and competitions, where she felt too much force was used and the natural beauty and spirit of the horse was diminished as a result.

In 2004, Diana met international teacher and founder of Enlightened Equitation, Heather Moffett. Diana was inspired by Heather’s beautiful riding and ethical training, and enrolled on an Enlightened Equitation Teacher Training course. She attained her Level 1 EET  with a glowing report from Heather, and is the only person ever to be awarded Distinction. She is one of only three EE teachers currently in Australia.

Diana works skillfully and sympathetically with the horse and rider.  She teaches the rider to synchronise exactly with the horse’s movement, using clear and simple explanations. She teaches precise and correct application of the aids in conjunction with exercises that develop the horse’s confidence and balance without force. This results in a horse and rider that move in lightness balance and elegance, ready to excel in their chosen discipline.
