Mic Rushen is one of the longest standing members of the Icelandic Horse Society of Great Britain. A former British champion in Tölt T1, Tölt T2, Four Gait V1, Five Gait F1, Pace PP1 and P3, she has competed for Britain internationally at 5 World Championships, the MEC, Landsmót and World Pace Championships.
Mic runs face to face training courses around the UK and e-coaching online. She has worked with many of the world’s top Icelandic horse riders and trainers, and continues to work hard to develop her knowledge of Icelandic horses. She is one of the UK regional judges for FEIF Oval Track competition.
She says “I’m British with over 35 years experience with Icelandic horses. I worked with other breeds of horse for 10 years before that. Mic has experience as a breeder, trainer, competition rider and judge and now as an instructor (though with no formal qualifications yet).
I live in West Wales and am in the process of setting up e-learning, with much help and encouragement from Mo! I believe you never stop learning, and it’s great to be able to pass on some of my knowledge and experience to all the new people coming into Icelandic horses. ”
Mic will focus on judging various different specially adapted gait tests for Tölt.Club, designed to develop the skills needed for online or actual FEIF oval track competitions and on offering e-coaching to develop these skills.
